Consignor Guidelines and Rules

Our store operates under a consignment arrangement, where both the consignor (seller) and the consignee (store) receive a percentage from the sale of items, following our guidelines below.

  • For any consignment concerns, please email us beforehand with item descriptions and preferably photos before visiting the store.

  • The Consignor receives 60% of the selling price using the Fixed Pricing Scheme described below.

  • The Consignor receives 60% of the selling price if sold in the first 39 days using the Time Discounted Pricing Scheme. The selling price is then discounted starting at day 40 and beyond as described in the chart below with the consignor continuing to receive 60% of the selling price.

  • The consignor retains ownership until the goods are sold, while the consignee takes possession, displays them in-store, sells to customers, and handles all financial transactions. At no time does the consignee own the consigned works. Consignors can remove their items at any time.

  • Consignors removing their goods before the 90 day consignment period ends will not be able to consign at the store going forward.

  • A receipt for your items will be provided when they are dropped off.

  • Copyright to any artistic works remains with the craftsperson or artist at all times.

  • We reserve the right to limit the number of consignment submissions from any one seller.

  • Management reserves the right to refuse for consignment any and all goods deemed unsuitable for the store in our opinion.

  • To be considered for consignment, items must be clean, unbroken, useable and in reasonable condition and have some buyer appeal.

  • Store space is limited, so large items are unsuitable. Generally, if an item cannot be easily carried by a single person into the store, we likely would not be interested.

  • Our store focuses on home décor items but will take other items if we believe has demand and does not take up too much space.

  • In general, we do not sell clothes but will sell hand painted clothes as we consider them artwork.

  • We do accept compact accessories like handbags, shoes, jewelry, etc.

  • Sellers, the preferred time to drop off items is when we are open Th-Fri 11-6 pm, Sat 11-3pm. If this time is inconvenient, please email us at info@abricay.com with a suggested time M-F. Whatever time you decide to visit, it is a good idea to call or email to let us know you are coming.

  • Sellers set prices for their items unless management considers them too high. If a compromise cannot be reached, the item will not be accepted for sale.

  • The consignee will not be responsible for any loss or damage of consigned items for any cause including fire, theft, vandalism, water damage or natural disaster.

  • When the store is full, owners of inventory that has not been sold within 90 days will be notified to pick it up. If items are left for longer than 10 days after notification, items will either be disposed or placed on a free shelf.

Pricing Schemes

We offer two types of pricing schemes as described below. The decision of what type of pricing scheme will be used is decided at the time of consignment.


Fixed Pricing: You tell us the price you want the item to sell at and it remains at this price until sold or 3 months have passed. If not sold in 3 months, we will ask you to pick up or inform us to dispose of. This method is used if you don’t want to accept a lower price for your item.

Time Discounted Pricing: You tell us the starting selling price and Items will be discounted by time using the below chart. If not sold in 3 months, we will ask you to pick up or inform us to dispose of. This method is used if you would like to move the item and want to get something for it even if less than what you thought it worth.

We are now accepting home décor consignment items during normal business hours. If this doesn’t work for you, please email us for an appointment at info@abricay.com Preferred time for scheduled visits are Tuesday mornings.

Art and home décor are what we specialize in helping you to sell. This would include wall art such as prints and paintings, ceramics, sculpture, mirrors, and small pieces of furniture. We will also accept some antiques such as, cameras, belt buckles, crochet, and other such goods. These are just a few examples. If you have something you feel reasonably fits the purpose of home décor then we will consider it. However, we don't accept large furniture such as couches and dining tables.
